This year the Total Energies 24hr of Spa will play host to Round 3 of the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series where real drivers will compete for points in the Endurance Cup, however, the weekend will also host a second virtual race wherein SRO Esports' best sim racers will go head-to-head on location at the Fanatec Arena.
The competition will be run on the Assetto Corsa Competizione (PC) simulation developed by Kunos Simulazioni. The event is organised by SRO Motorsports Group & AK Esports in order to create an incredibly competitive event capable of promoting Esports racing. The organiser reserves the right to edit the regulations at any time. Any changes to the regulations will be communicated to all the drivers via the established channels.
https://discord.gg/fBVmPFj2VK - All drivers must join the official Discord server of the GT World Challenge Esports. The official Discord server is considered the main channel of communication between the Organiser, Race Direction and Drivers.
It is mandatory for every Driver to join the official Discord server and change their server nickname to their real first name and last name.
Before registering, each driver must first have completed their user profile to include their first name and surname, their nationality and Steam ID.
To register, click the Register button and you will be taken to the screen to select your car and car number.
Participants will be required to partake in a Pre-Qualifying stage, this stage will be used to determine the Drivers that have the right to participate at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on the 30th of July 2022 for the on-site event in the Fanatec Arena.
The Pre-Qualifying will be run as a hot-lap qualifying event. Each participant will be required to set hot-laps on the official Pre-Qualifying server running the Spa-Francorchamps circuit within Assetto Corsa Competizione. Drivers must set their laps in the car that they have selected. Any laps set in another car will not be valid.
Registration to this Pre-Qualifying is free, however drivers that successfully qualify will have to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. SRO Esports will provide food & beverage vouchers to sim drivers who are not supported by a manufacturer on-site.
Drivers will be sorted in the leaderboard by their average lap time. The average lap time is an average of a drivers best 10 laps.
The top 14 drivers in the standings will be eligible to qualify. However, there is a limit of 3 drivers per manufacturer. Once a manufacturer has 3 drivers, any other drivers in the leaderboard registered to that manufacturer will not qualify, even if they have qualified within the top 14.
e.g. If the top 4 drivers are all in the Porsche, then only the top 3 drivers will successfully qualify and P15 would qualify instead of P4 (if P15 is also not in a manufacturer that already has 3 drivers).
In addition to this, there are some manufacturers that have official representatives for this event & the wildcards that have been invited to attend, thus, some manufacturers may only have 1 or 2 spots remaining for Drivers to fill. The current representation means the following manufacturers have limited spots available:
The organiser reserves the right to apply a custom Manufacturer Balance of Performance. The Pre-Qualifying & Event will use a custom Balance of Performance. This is applied as follows;
This may be changed by the organiser at any point before or during Pre-Qualifying and at any point up to just before Qualifying.
Before registering, please refer to the Rules tab for more information and to see the full ruleset.
