The Coach Dave Time Attack is a thrilling hotlap competition with it’s focus on drivers completing the perfect lap to beat the competition. Each week will see a change of track and a fresh leaderboard start. After 3 weeks, the top 33 drivers will come together in a nail-biting finale.
Dáire McCormack won the lot in the first season of the competition as he was the fastest driver in each week, and then pipped Luke Whitehead to champion status by only 0.050s! Can anybody stop Dáire winning everything all over again?!
For this edition of the Coach Dave Time Attack, each driver will be able to choose between all available GT3 cars. Using their chosen car, drivers will need to set their best possible lap time on the provided server. Each week features a different track for the drivers to do their laps at. Week 1 is held at NĂĽrburgring, Week 2 at Spa-Francorchamps and Week 3 at Kyalami.
Drivers are free to change their registered car at any time, and there is no requirement for the drivers who successfully qualify for the Finale to use the same car they used to qualify.
Drivers will be sorted in the standings on their best lap time. From each week, the fastest 10 drivers will qualify for the Finale. Therefore, those drivers are not required to set laps at any remaining tracks.
In addition, each week will also have a "Wildcard" qualify to the Finale. The "Wildcard" slot is given to the driver between P11 and P20 with the lowest number of total laps.
The Finale is a series of knock-out qualifying sessions and will consist of 33 drivers (the top 10 + Wildcard from each week). All 33 drivers will compete in Q1 with the top 20 proceeding into Q2. The top 10 in Q2 will proceed to Q3 and the results of Q3 will determine the final 5 who proceed to the Super Pole.
In the Super Pole, each of the 5 drivers will take it in turns to head out on track and get one lap to set their best lap time. P5 from Q3 will go first and P1 from Q3 will go last. Once each driver has done their lap, there will be a short break before each driver goes out on track again for a second, and final run. The drivers will go in the same order and crucially the lap times from the first run will remain, so the pressure will be on the drivers to try and better their lap times and be declared the overall winner of the Coach Dave Time Attack!
As for where the Finale will be held, well that will only be revealed 24h before! During Week 3 there will be a vote on social media between 3 tracks and then David Perel will choose between the top 2 voted tracks to decide where the event will be held.
