tsrc  - season 9 gt3 sunday league

Rules and Regulations

Before signing up to Season 9, please read and accept the rules and regulations for the league - TSRC Rules and Regulations

evaluation/warm-up race

Drivers are required to complete an evaluation race prior to competing in our console championships. Evaluation races are hosted throughout the year as one-off events for new drivers to prove that you can race cleanly and without quitting. The week before the new season commences, an evaluation/warm-up race will be hosted for new and existing members of TSRC to compete in. If you are unable to attend an evaluation race, please contact one of our admins through the TSRC Discord as there may be other opportunities to enter an evaluation race before the season commences. If new members have not attended an evaluation race before Round 1 begins, you will not be able to compete in the championship. Drivers who have previously competed in any console championship with TSRC are not required to complete an additional evaluation race.

The results of the evaluation/warm-up race will not count towards the championship.

withdrawing from a round

If you cannot attend a round then you are required to click the 'withdraw' button for the race on SimGrid. Failure to do so will result in a 10 point deduction in the championship.

practice

Our server is open 24/7 for drivers to practice in their own time throughout the week. The server will be reset on Monday's to the correct track, temperatures, and weather conditions for the upcoming race. If there is an issue with the server during the week, please contact one of our admins who will reset the server.

On race day, the server shall be reset at 7pm UK time and an announcement will be made in the TSRC Discord when the lobby is open. Practice is not mandatory to compete in, however it is advised that drivers join the practice lobby as soon as possible to ensure you can enter the lobby and are assigned the correct vehicle.

driver briefing

A driver briefing will be held each race. This will be a written briefing that will be posted in the TSRC Discord when practice begins. Every driver is required to read the briefing so they are aware of the standards or issues raised before the race begins. You must tick the message to show the admins that you have read and understood the briefing. If you have any questions regarding the briefing, contact an admin who will help explain the information to you.

Qualifying

It is the drivers responsibility to provide yourself sufficient space on track. It is recommended that you should leave a 5-10 second gap to the car in front to ensure you are able to complete your hot laps without being blocked.

If you are approaching a driver who may be slower but is also on a hot lap, you are not permitted to overtake. You must back out of the accelerator and provide yourself a sufficient gap to the car ahead so you can start a new hot lap. If you are found to have interfered with their lap it will result in a penalty.

If you are on an out-lap, in-lap, or have invalidated your lap it is drivers responsibility to move off of the racing line to allow approaching cars to continue their hot laps without being impeded. When creating space for yourself, please make sure you do not impede any other drivers who may also be on a hot lap. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

pre-race

There will be a three-minute period for you to make any adjustment to set-ups, fuel allowance, fresh tyres, pressures etc. between qualifying and the beginning of the race. This will be followed by a full formation lap. Please make sure the amount of fuel put into the vehicle allows for the formation lap as not all fuel calculators include this into the race time.

the race

The majority of incidents occur during the first few laps when the grid is compact, especially the first few corners. The most common type of incidents are where somebody brakes too late or someone moves sideway into another car. Please take extra care through the first few laps by braking earlier and providing a cars width to other drivers to try an avoid contact.

Early race incidents can spoil the race for a lot of drivers, especially if they have spent the week practicing, and can be very frustrating for a lot of people. First lap incidents, careless, and reckless driving will receive harsher penalties.

yellow flags

Yellow flags will be raised when an incident has occurred or if a vehicle has stopped on track. When approaching yellow flags, you must slow down and be prepared to stop. You are not permitted to overtake any vehicles that have not caused the yellow flags. Penalties will be issued to drivers overtaking illegally.

white flags

White flags identify that there is a slow moving car ahead. The rules are fairly similar to yellow flags. Be prepared to slow down in case the slow moving car may be recovering from an incident and potentially blocking the track. If the white flags are raised, you are allowed to overtake cars you are racing as long as it is safe to do so.

blue flags

Blue flags will be raised when a faster car is approaching a slower car who is at least one lap behind the leading lap. The slower car must move off the racing line and allow the faster car through at the earliest and safest opportunity. This can vary depending on the type of track but a general rule of thumb is within at least three corners.

When allowing a faster car through you must be predictable and without delay to their lap. This should be carried out by lifting off the throttle off of the racing line during a straight. If you have indicators programmed to your controller or wheel, it is advised that you use them to show which direction you will be moving to.

If you are shown a blue flag but are faster than the other car you are permitted to stay in front as long as you do not affect their pace. If you do not increase the gap within a lap, then you should allow the lapping car to pass.

You are permitted to unlap yourself in a race if you feel you are faster than the car ahead, however the move must be carried out as safely as possible and so it does not cost the leading car much time. If you are of similar pace then the lapped car must stay behind the car until there is a substantial pace difference.

incidents

Incidents are part of racing. If you are involved in minor contact with another car which results in you both continuing your race but have overtaken the other car (for example, push to pass manoeuvre) you should return the position when safe to do so. When returning a position try to do so without affecting anybody else's race (such as by harshly braking). This can be achieved by lifting off the throttle off of the racing line along the straight. By doing this you will avoid receiving a penalty and helps maintain respect between drivers.

If you are involved in an incident where you lose control of the vehicle, always hold your brakes to stop the car as quickly as possible. Continue to hold the brakes when you are stopped to avoid rolling onto track where oncoming cars are present. Once the track is clear, you will be able to return to track. Returning to track dangerously can lead to incidents and will be penalised.

incident reports

If you are involved in an incident and feel your competitor has received an unfair advantage you can complete a report and send it to the stewards for review. The reporting system is available in the TSRC Discord and can be made available in the chat by using the command !report. The reports must be sent to the stewards within 48 hours of the race ending.

You are responsible for providing video evidence of any incidents that you are involved in. All drivers are asked to save a replay of any incidents they would like to report. Ideally, it would be preferred to show three different point of views, your driving position, the other cars driving position, and the helicopter cam.

Ideally you should map a button to save a replay in game to help capture incidents. This will save the last few minutes of action and allow you to provide a video of different camera angles if required.

We encourage you to send in incident reports to the stewards as we want to maintain high standards of driving within our races. Incident reports aren't there just to punish people, it is so we can learn from our mistakes to improve the standards throughout our grid.

license points and times penalties

If you are deemed at fault for an incident by the stewards, you are likely to receive license points and a timed penalty. The severity of license points and timed penalties will vary depending on the type of incident. If you receive a timed penalty, the time will be added to the race where the incident occurred and the race results/championship standings will be amended.

We have a threshold for penalty points and you may receive a qualifying or race ban depending on the number of license points accumulated throughout the season. To make sure that this doesn't happen to you, please leave racing room for other drivers to try and avoid incidents.
