QUALIFYING
- Do not overtake any car that is on a valid lap. You are only permitted to pass if the car is not on a valid lap.
- 20-minute qualifying session.
BLUE FLAG RULE
- When a car is close to lapping you, being within 0.5 seconds behind, prepare to facilitate their pass. If possible, signal which side you intend to move, permitting them to overtake on a straight by decreasing your speed. Do not intentionally block or defend your position when the blue flag is displayed.
- The sole exception to the blue flag rule is when you are actively contesting a position with the car ahead (within 0.5 seconds).
UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT
- A driver who attempts to wreck or intentionally ram another competitor may face a complete ban from Shake and Bake Racing.
- Engaging in 'calling out' other drivers or teams or using inflammatory language on forums or during race communications, can lead to penalties, probation, or bans.
DRIVER ETIQUETTE
- If you're anticipating stewards, penalties, and extremely strict regulations beyond common sense, courtesy, and the cleanest driving possible, you may be let down. We take a more relaxed approach, focusing on fun and fair racing.
- Our goal is to provide thrilling race experiences without the intense pressure. We cultivate a spirit of camaraderie and support within our community, always prioritizing friendship.
DEFENDING / BLOCKING
- Weave blocking, where multiple maneuvers are used to defend a position, is prohibited. Continual weaving to obstruct a faster vehicle often leads to crashes and heightened tempers.
- The leading car is free to choose any driving line, provided it remains ahead of the following car. However, it is permitted only one change of direction before the braking zone for defense, and may defend just one side of the track: either the inside or the outside, as weaving is prohibited. Any subsequent reactionary maneuver to obstruct the pursuing cars' trajectory after the initial defense is considered weave blocking and may incur penalties at the discretion of the stewards. The leading car is free to choose any driving line, provided it remains ahead of the following car. - Once the defensive move has been executed, the leading car may revert to the racing line before braking, but only if it is completely clear of the trailing car.
