1 ETIQUETTE:

1.1 BASIC ETIQUETTE:

  1. Drivers are expected to race in a clean, safe, and respectful manner
  2. Contact between drivers should be avoided at all costs. Bump drafting is permitted except in ACC where it results in a rating penalty.
  3. In the event where contact is made forcing another driver wide, off track, or causing an unsafe overtake; the driver who initiated contact should concede the position at the nearest and safest location on track
  4. Drivers are required to keep two (2) wheels on track at all times. Curbs are considered part of the track

1.2 PITS:

  1. Drivers are required to follow all pit entrance and exit markings
  2. The solid lines at the pit entrance and exit are considered track limits. No more than 2 wheels should be over them at any point and should never be crossed completely
  3. When exiting the pits drivers are not allowed to reenter the track until they are past the solid line.
  4. When reentering the track drivers must avoid pulling out in front of faster oncoming race traffic

1.3 BLUE FLAGGED / LAP TRAFFIC:

  1. Blue flagged drivers are not expected to pull out of the way for lead lap drivers
  2. Blue flagged drivers should maintain their normal racing line and allow the lead lap driver to pass in a safe manner
  3. Blue flagged cars should not block or attempt to intentionally slow down lead lap drivers
  4. Drivers attempting to pass blue flagged drivers should always do so in a safe manner. Drivers should never force their way past a blue flagged car

1.4 BLOCKING:

  1. Drivers are not permitted to intentionally block another driver
  2. Drivers are allowed one (1) safe defensive move per straight that must be completed before reaching the braking zone for that corner
  3. Weaving back and forth is not permitted
  4. Drivers may use a defensive driving line as long as it is not deemed abusive by the race stewards (brake checking, over braking in turns, etc..)
  5. Contact with a driver attempting an overtake must be avoided

1.5 OVERTAKING:

  1. Drivers must overtake in a clean and safe manner
  2. Contact must be avoided when attempting an overtake
  3. Dive Bombing is strictly prohibited
  4. Leaning on another vehicle to help make an overtake is prohibited

1.6 RETALIATION:

  1. Drivers shall not retaliate for any incident or perceived incident on track. EVER!
  2. Any driver who is deemed to have retaliated will be subject to a severe penalty

1.7 TRACK REENTRY:

  1. When reentering the track drivers shall ensure they can safely reenter without interfering with any other drivers on track

2 TIRE REGULATIONS:

2.1 QUALIFYING AND RACE TIRES:

  1. Currently there are no regulations as far as tires go
  2. League directors reserve the right to limit tire sets in the future

3 NEW DRIVERS / SINGLE RACE DRIVERS:

3.1 NEW DRIVERS:

  1. New drivers are drivers who have never participated in an ARL ACC race before
  2. New drivers will be placed based on their Grid Rating.
  3. New drivers will have a 2 race period where they are evaluated and may be moved to a different division if they are clearly in the incorrect division
  4. Drivers will be scored in whatever division they are placed
  5. Driver points will be adjusted if they are required to move divisions
  6. New drivers are allowed to use any car from the season car list.
  7. If there are too many drivers in a division already, any new drivers will be placed on a reserve driver list.

3.2 SINGLE RACE DRIVERS:

  1. Single race drivers are drivers who have participated in the ARL ACC series before and have already been placed in a division but are only participating in a single event
  2. Single race drivers will only be allowed during open seasons
  3. Single race drivers will not be scored
  4. Single race drivers may choose any car from the car selection list
  5. Single race drivers will only be allowed to race if a spot on grid is available

4 CAR SELECTION:

4.1 SELECTION RULES:

  1. There are no limits on the number of drivers per car
  2. Drivers have until 7:00 PM ET the night of the first race to lock in their car selection
  3. Drivers may choose to keep their car from last season.

4.2 CAR LIST:

  1. Any car available for selection when registering on SimGrid

4.3 CHANGE OF CAR:

  1. Drivers will not be able to change cars during the season

5 DIVISIONS:

5.1 DRIVER DIVISIONS:

  1. Drivers will be placed into divisions based on Grid Rating
  2. Current Divisions are as follows:
    • Pro - GR 2001+
    • AM - GR 0 - 2000
  3. Driver’s may be moved between divisions if it’s clear they are in the incorrect division
  4. Divisions will be scored separately for individuals and teams
  5. Divisions will not be used for off-season events

6 RACE NIGHT PROCEDURES:

6.1 LOBBY SETTINGS:

  1. Will be listed on SimGrid

6.2 RACE CONFIRMATION:

  1. Drivers are required to confirm their status as to whether they will be attending that week's race or not on SimGrid.
  2. Drivers who no-show will receive a DNS penalty
  3. Once a driver accumulates enough no-show penalties they will be disqualified from the championship

6.3 PRACTICE:

  1. Practice will consist of one fifty-five (55) minute session prior to qualifying
  2. Practice is not required so drivers may show up at any time during practice
  3. Drivers should follow good racing etiquette during practice

6.4 QUALIFYING:

  1. Qualifying will consist of one fifteen (15) minute qualifying session prior to the race start
  2. At the end of the countdown timer following practice the lobby will automatically reset
  3. Once the lobby resets, drivers may enter the track whenever they please
  4. Drivers are expected to not hold up any other driver out on the track qualifying
  5. Drivers are required to maintain a qualifying “pace” during the session. Staying in low gear trying to burn extra fuel thus slowing down your pace where other drivers need to avoid you is not permitted
  6. Drivers who are Blue Flagged or have otherwise invalidated their lap are expected to move off the racing line for cars on a valid hot lap
  7. Pits will remain open during the qualifying session
  8. Once the fifteen minute qualifying session is complete drivers may finish their lap they are on and all times will be finalized

6.5 RACE:

  1. There will be a ten (10) minute break between qualifying and race start which will include the Driver’s Briefing
  2. Drivers are required to join the Discord voice chat and mute themselves for the Driver’s Briefing
  3. Drivers who do not join the Driver’s Briefing will be assessed a post-race penalty
  4. Drivers should get their race setup in place and be ready to select drive at 30 seconds. Failure to enter the track in time will result in a start from the pits
  5. Failure to race respectfully and failure to follow the driving etiquette guidelines may result in a penalty
  6. Most races will start with a full guided formation lap ending in a double-file rolling start
  7. If the lobby crashes prior to reaching the halfway point of the race the drivers enter a new lobby and start from a formation lap in the previous race order as best as possible. If the lobby crashes after reaching the halfway point, drivers will be scored based on their position and fast lap times at the point of disconnection as best as possible
  8. Drivers who quit during a race will be issued a “did not finish” (DNF) designation and points will not be awarded.
  9. Drivers who disconnect due to a network error during the race will be awarded last place points.
  10. Flag Rules:
    • Under Yellow Flag drivers should slow and approach with caution. There is no overtaking under Yellow and if you do overtake in a Yellow zone you are expected to give the position back. If you fail to give the position back a penalty may be incurred
    • Under Blue Flag drivers should continue to run the racing line. Drivers should not battle the overtaking car and should give way if the faster car has a run on them. If moving out of the way, Blue Flagged drivers should signal their intent, move off the racing line, and lift off the throttle to allow the faster car through

6.6 INCIDENT REPORTING

  1. All on track incidents are expected to be reported on SimGrid within 26 hours of the race for review
  2. If possible it is recommended that drivers run a live stream for incident replay purposes as well as mapping a save replay button. SimGrid requires a link to video footage for incidents.
  3. If an incident occurs utilize the save replay button to save the last ~7 minutes of racing footage
  4. Incident videos should include the following:
    • replay clip should include footage of at least 15 sec before and after the incident
    • replay should be captured with HUD enabled
    • replay should have onboard view (showing steering wheel)
    • replay should have chase view
    • replay should have helicopter view
    • replay should include these views of all cars involved
  5. Any and all incidents or on track behavior that any driver feels is unnecessary should be submitted for review
  6. Incidents will first be sent for a peer review to a group of fellow drivers that have volunteered to be race stewards
  7. After a peer review the findings will be sent to Race Direction for a decision on whether any sort of penalty should be enforced
  8. Penalties could include but are not limited to: time penalty, post race Drive-Thru, post race Stop & Go, grid penalty, pit lane start, points penalty, one or more race suspension. 

7 LIVERY REQUIREMENTS:

7.1 LIVERY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Use of the in game livery is optional
  2. If using an in-game livery ensure you choose one with endurance lights if the race may include nighttime driving
  3. Driver number will be set by the selection made during registration on SimGrid
  4. Aux Lights are required and should be the same color as one of the main colors used on the car body
  5. Nationality will be set by the selection made during registration on SimGrid
  6. Sponsor and Banner can be whatever you choose 

8 TEAMS:

8.1 TEAM RULES:

  1. Teams must be created and registered on SimGrid
  2. Teams will consist of two (2) drivers only from the same division
  3. Teams may run one (1) team in each available division
  4. Team drivers are not required to use the same vehicle
  5. Drivers may select their teammates after divisions are announced
  6. The BoD may choose to not accept any teams that obviously consist of two favorites from each division
  7. Team names may not be offensive
  8. Teams will be scored based on the best total points each driver has earned during the season

9 POINTS:

9.1 POINTS AWARDED

  1. Each division is scored separately
  2. Driver division season championship points are cumulative except that the lowest two results will be dropped
  3. Two (2) points will be awarded for fastest lap
  4. Race points awarded:
    • The last position is given 1 point.
    • The field is divided into thirds. Points in the bottom third will be separated by 1 point.
    • Points in the middle third will be separated by 2 points.
    • Points in the top third will be separated by 3 points.
    • Podium positions are awarded additional points on top of this (P1: 3, P2: 2, P3: 1).
  5. Points values will be adjusted if and when divisions are implemented
