By joining an event, a competitor manifests his or her compromise to participate in said event, unless justified reasons outside their control preclude them from doing so.
In case of having a full server, community owners reserve the right to replace drivers with no previous experience on the Formula Student community or a high DNF ratio in the platform for drivers who have competed in the FSGP community regularly in the past.
If a driver fails to justify an absence from a race, he or she may be removed from the championship or series to leave room for other players.
If the behaviour is repeated in multiple occasions, admins reserve the right to disqualify said members from future events, entire series and championships if deemed necessary. Drivers can always justify an absence (even multiple days after the event they missed) by contacting a Formula Student administrator.
Clean Racing:
Competitors manifest their compromise to race cleanly and fairly in every event. Intentionally colliding with other competitors, cutting corners, illegal blocking, creating an unnecessarily dangerous scenario for other racers, purposely exceeding track limits or other infringements will result in penalties as per section “Penalties”.
For important events, additional notes may be given by community admins, usually clarifying issues with certain circuits. Competitors must also acknowledge and respect those rules. Any driver briefing will be made on the #stewards-room Discord channel.
Defending:
Drivers are allowed to change direction only once to defend, and never on a braking zone.
Excessive weaving is strictly forbidden. Blocking (moving in reaction to the attacking driver) is also not allowed.
On straights until the apex of a corner, the defending drivers must leave a car's width if another competitor is overlapping its car. Between the apex and the exit of the corner, the defending driver must leave a car's width as long as their rear axle is ahead of the front axle of the attacking car.
Drivers defending can dictate the line taken as long as they are ahead of the car they are overlapping, and they do so in a predictable manner. This rule doesn’t overrule previous comments, so if the car is overlapping, they always must leave a cars' width and behave in a safe manner.
Lapped cars:
For the 2.4 hours of Le Mans due to the fact the event is a multiclass race, drivers who are being lapped are not allowed to defend their position and should not make any erratic manoeuvres when being overtaken. This however does not mean the lapped car has to get out of the way and slow down. It is the leader's responsability to safely complete the pass
During qualifying, drivers on a cooldown lap must get out of the way from cars on timed attempts without impeding. Failure to do so can result in penalties that apply to the race standings.
It is highly recommended to use applications such as Car Radar or Helicorsa to increase your awareness regarding the position of other drivers, thus allowing for cleaner racing: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/car-radar.15743/
Pit lane:
Drivers must respect pit lane entry and exit white lines from the track on qualifications and races. If the track does not feature lines, drivers must enter and exit pit lane in a safe manner. Failure to do so will result in a time penalty applied post race.
Race Start:
All races will begin with a standing start, drivers being lined up in qualifying order. A jump start will be penalised with a pits teleport penalty.
Drivers must take special precautions on lap 1 to avoid large incidents, as any small contact can result in big crashes. Penalties will be imposed accordingly towards drivers who show reckless behaviour on lap 1.
Penalties
Time penalties consist of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 second time penalties. These penalties are applied to the results of events, and they can be applied to any event in the community.
Place penalties can also be imposed in the final standing, as stewards can drop drivers 1 or 2 positions from their final standings if they deem time penalties to not correctly punish drivers.
Race results can be challenged up to 48 hours after the event ends. To challenge the result of a race, the driver must head to the results event and, in the protest tab, and fill the form.
Drivers must select the competitor who they are protesting against, provide context in the description including Lap and Corner in which the incident took place. Additonally, they can provide a link of the incident (this is not necessary as stewards will review the incident from their own replay file)
All incidents submitted following the procedure specified in point 3 will be reviewed by stewards. An impartial steward will be nominated to review each incident (so drivers competing in a race cannot steward said event).
Additionally, stewards can also review and penalise non reported incidents if deemed necessary. The decision of the stewards is final and not subject to appeal.
General information:
The Organizers will publish all relevant information through the official Discord community. This includes race scheduling, race format, venue, car used for the event, weather, and track conditions... The organizers will also publish all information regarding driver eligibility, as some events may be filtered by driver level or other aspects.
All race scheduling is subject to changes if administrators deem necessary and will be announced via the Discord channel of the community.
Red flags and delays
If the race must be red flagged (due to a server disconnection for example), the race will be restarted with the laps or time remaining at the time of red flag. The order of the restart will be the order of the race when the disconnection occurred. The race could be restarted either with a standing start or a single file rolling restart, this being decided by race direction. Administrators may also declare a race to be restarted in its entirety, using the qualifying results previously obtained.
If qualifying is red flagged, the session will be restarted on its entirety, although the session may be shortened.
If practice is red flagged, the session will be restarted, although the session may be shortened.
If an event is delayed/postponed, the administrators reserve the right to adjust the schedule, and the length of the sessions from the event.
Points system
Points will be awarded as specified on the "Points System" table.
