🚨 Announcing: The SRO Esports Community World Challenge 2024 and our qualifying series to get you into the main finals later in the year.
We're thrilled to be one of the communities to host a series for the SRO Esports Community World Challenge Powered by SimGrid, a ground-breaking new competition in partnership with SRO, AK Esports and SimGrid.
This challenge is all about you - the people and community - and will spotlight the incredible talent within the Assetto Corsa Competizione scene.
📆 When is it: Our qualifying series will run between June, July and August, with one round in each month and a 3-week break between each race.
🏆 The Prize: The two winners of the main grand finals, along with the community host they represented, will join motorsport legends at the SRO Motorsport Awards in London, receive an official trophy, and celebrate alongside real-world champions! Do you have what it takes to represent SOP Motorsport and go all the way?
*The top two drivers who qualify through the SOP Motorsport qualifying series will form a team together in the grand finals and race together representing SOP Motorsport to get themselves and the SOP Motorsports community to the SRO Motorsport Awards in London.
✍️ Event Details: You begin your journey with us to being crowned the first-ever Community World Challenge Champions by competing in three rounds, each round will be a 90-minute race and this will be a solo championship. The top two at the end of the three rounds advanced to the main finals.
- Round 1: June 23rd - Spa Francorchamps
- Round 2: July 14th - Mount Panorama
- Round 3: August 4th - The Nordschleife
All rounds will begin at 8pm UK time, with a 10 minute practice session, followed by a 15 minute qualifying session (Nords will be configured for 2 laps of qualifying) and then the 90 minute races.
It will be a GT3-only competition and every GT3 is eligible in this competition. You can change cars every single round. It will be open to 40 drivers only and it is a community-focused championship. So you must be in our discord to register.
Pitstops are completely free choice in this championship and there will be no drive limit or stint limit applied here. We will not be using any custom BOP either, hence the free car choice every round.
🚀 Coach Dave Delta Pole Award: Every round we will have the pole position award by Coach Dave Delta. The pole position sitter at each round will win 1-month free subscription to Coach Dave Delta.
👨✈️ Stewarding: There will be live stewarding at every round here at SOP Motorsport. With no exceptions all lap 1 incidents will pick up a DT penalty if you are found at fault as a driver.
🎙️ Broadcasting: All SOP Motorsport Community World Challenge rounds will have a live broadcast and commentary team present on our Twitch channel.
