The next sprint series to come out of SOP Motorsport is finally here. The European sprint championships. This championship will feature 6 rounds of varying lengths. Some rounds will feature double headers. Some rounds will feature 60 minute sprints with one mandatory stop, Some rounds will feature 90 minute sprints with two mandatory stop. All to test a drivers outright pace and ability over short sharp distances, around what we feel are 6 circuits that will truly test a drivers skill.
We will have both a PRO class (23 drivers) and an AM class (23 drivers) in the one split for this series so we can crown two champions and have two seperate championship class battles as well as the overall champion from the one series.
The first 46 drivers to register will secure a slot in the series and it is FREE to enter. We will allow 10 reserves for this championship and so if registration is full, take one of these spots and you will be moved into a permenant spot if a driver withdraws.
Single race rounds:
Practice - 19:30 UTC
Qualifying - 19:40 UTC
Race - 20:00 UTC
Double header rounds:
Practice - 19:30 UTC
Qualifying - 19:40 UTC
Race - 20:00 UTC
Qualifying - 20:30 UTC
Race - 20:50 UTC
There will be a variety of pit stop requirments depending on the round. There are no pit stops for double header events. 1 mandatory stop for 60 minute events and 2 mandatory stops for 90 minute events.
This series will adopt post race stewarding only. Which can be found under the specific race of each round only.
This series will impose a balance of performance based on how popular a specific car is regardless of wether you are in the PRO or AM class. The BOP will be as follows and will be the same for every round:
More than 10 cars on the grid: 25kg ballast
More than 8 cars on the grid: 20kg ballast
More than 6 cars on the grid: 15 kg ballast
More than 4 cars on the grid: 10kg ballast
The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this sprint series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game developers and their use can induce significant lag for the user.
Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see that driver banned from the series.
To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries bring, we suggest that drivers run the livery but without the .png file. and that they do not load any other drivers livery into their own pc.
If a driver is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many signouts are permitted.
If a driver has withdrawn from a race, but wish to attend the race after all, please contact a member of staff as the slot may have already been filled by a reserve driver.
