RaceFace General Rules:

Introduction

Welcome to the RaceFace Online Racing Community.

The RaceFace team thank you for your participation as we aim to establish a community of passionate racers where casual and serious drivers alike can enjoy clean, fair and exciting racing.

With this in mind, we are also very serious about enforcing rules which ensures a high standard of racing.

We encourage all participants to keep fairness and clean racing in mind when on the track.

In the end we are all here to have fun, so let's make it enjoyable for all.

---

1. League Rules

1.1 Participation

All drivers who entered a RaceFace league are expected to participate in all races as scheduled in the relevant league. It is also the responsibility of the driver to know when races are scheduled etc.

Drivers who cannot attend a race for whatever reason are expected to inform one of the administrators/hosts so that we do not wait for you when starting the race.

A few minutes will be allowed for drivers to enter the lobby.

1.2 Conduct

All drivers are expected to behave in a respectful manner on and off the track.

While we don't mind casual banter every now and then, we do not allow disrespectful, childish or unsportsmanlike behavior.

1.3 Engagement

We don't expect everyone to be active on our communication platforms(Discord/Whatsapp/Telegram/Website etc), but we do expect you to check the Discord channel regularly for announcements. "I did not know" is not an excuse.

1.4 Comments & Suggestions

Please feel free to contact any of the administrators with any comments or suggestions you may have which can improve and enhance the community and the experience. We're always open to new ideas.

2. Track Rules

2.1 Clean and fair racing

The most important rule when on track is to always respect your opponent and to play fair.

Clean and fair racing include the following:

a. Avoid contact. Avoid contact. Avoid contact.

b. Remember to brake early for turn 1. The race is not won on the first lap, but it can easily be lost on the first lap, or in any overtake for that matter.

c. You must always leave da space! Leaving space when your opponent is beside you (or has a reasonable part of his car next to you) is essential to avoid contact and to keep the racing clean. Also remember, if you know your opponent has beaten you in an overtake, rather let him have the corner and then give yourself the best chance possible to get him back in the next corner or overtake-opportunity. If you try a desperate move you might ruin the race for both of you.

d. You are limited to 1 move when defending a corner and this move has to take place PRIOR to the braking zone, if this is unclear please contact one of the administrators for a practical demonstration.

e. When you are being lapped, make sure you move out of the way in the safest possible manner. Preferably on the next straight or take a wide line around the next corner. The most important thing to remember is to move off the racing line and to leave a clear space for the faster car. Please don't be that guy who takes out the leaders of the race! You will forever have to endure epic banter.

f. Do not weave over the track like a drunk. Blocking is allowed as it is in any racing, but excessive blocking by weaving left and right will most likely earn you a penalty.

g. When you spin or leave the track, it is imperative that you re-enter the track in a safe way. Check the mini-map if you cannot see oncoming cars, but do not enter the track in front of oncoming traffic. Again, don't be that guy.

---

2.2 Incidents

2.2.1 We're all (hopefully) trying our best to race clean and proper, but this is racing, accidents happen. If you feel that you've been wronged or your race has been compromised by someone else's doing, please report the incident on the form(link below) within 24 hours of the end of the race.

Also please note that for certain games, unless the other party accepts responsibility for the incident which you have reported, the stewards will not be able to assess the incident without footage, so we urge all our drivers to record or stream their races.

We have penalty points system in place for each league which works a follows:

For each incident logged, the race stewards will review and then award penalty points to the offending driver if found to be guilty.

1 point for a minor offence

2 points for a more serious offence

3 points for a very serious offence

These points will be logged against the offending driver's name for the specific league.

Once a driver gained a certain number of points within a 4-month cycle, the following suspensions will applied:

4 points = Qualification Ban(The driver will not be allowed to set a qualifying lap for the next race)

8 points = Race Ban(The driver will be suspended for the next league race)

12 points = 3 month suspension from the league.

Penalty points gained will automatically expire after 4 months.(Points expire 4 month's after the race in which it was gained so not all points expire after 4 months, only the points gained "4 months ago".)

PLEASE NOTE: Points and suspensions are carried over between seasons and work on a 4-month cycle, not linked to any specific season or the race calendar. This means wreckless driving in the final race of a season could lead to a suspension from the 1st race of the next season.

Please note that the decision of the stewards can be appealed.(Within 24 hours after the review results are posted)

Once a decision has been reviewed again, the decision is final.

2.3 Connectivity

Connectivity, unfortunately, plays a big role in online racing and can ruin things quite quickly.

We will do our best, from a hosting perspective, to use solid internet lines, servers and service providers when hosting races, but things can still go wrong.

Please see the bylaws of the relevant league for the scenarios which will warrant a restart of any session(qualifying or race).

---

2.4 Points

As with any championship, points will be awarded based on your finishing position after all penalties are taken into account.

Please see the bylaw of the relevant league for the points system used and the permutations of points scored when stopping before the end of the race etc.

---

3. Drivers/Teams

Teams are set before the start of each league and the drivers will earn points in the teams/constructors' championship of that specific league.

New drivers may enter the league during the season and may join any team with an open seat. Administrators may assign a driver to a team, with or without the permission of the driver already in that team.

While drivers may come and go, driver and team points are not transferable, even if a new driver take the seat of an outgoing driver.

Constructors' points will accumulate during the season even if a new driver joins the team, but each driver can only score points for him/herself.
