F4 Cup Season 2

Hosted by Raceface.Pro iRacing on PC Followers Only

Please note that these rules are an addendum to the general racing rules of the Raceface.Pro community which can be found at 📒-rules on our Discord.  These rules are to cater to the specific requirements of events run in iRacing.

Introduction

Policies of safety, conduct and expectations are as relevant to virtual racing as they are to actual racing, and drivers understanding these may transition between virtual and actual racing with little or no adjustment.

Filing an Incident

Please follow the link available in the ir-log-a-incident channel. Drivers are encouraged to file incident reports where they may have been negatively affected.

Incidents must be filed no later than 24 hours after race completion but not sooner than 12 hours after the race (8:30am-8:30pm on the day following the race). Any filings outside the allotted window or incidents lacking any information will not be reviewed. If your incident report is declined due to invalid or improper filing of it or missing or improper information, you will not be able to resubmit the incident.

You will have an opportunity to lodge a protest against the findings of the stewards within 24 hours of the stewards decisions being made public.

Penalty License

a Raceface.Pro Penalty License is issued to each driver. This license starts with a value of zero penalties at the start of the season. For the offences mentioned below, the associated point/s will be applied to that drivers license and possible deletion of championship points. The points are awarded seperately for each series and are cleared after a season ends.

Minor Offence + 1 Point to your license

  • Unsafe re-join where car(s) behind must take avoiding action
  • Causing a collision with no significant damage or effect to the other driver(s) - in certain instances the collision may be deemed a racing incident by the stewards with no further action

Serious Offence - will yield a 5 point championship points deduction and +2 Points on your license

  • Unsafe re-join where car(s) behind collide with driver returning to track
  • Causing collision that causes other driver(s) to lose positions and/or performance

Major Offence - will yield a 7 points championship points deduction and +3 Points on your license

  • Unsafe re-join where car(s) behind collide with driver returning to track and at least one must pit for repairs or retire.
  • Causing a collision which causes a driver to pit for repairs or retire
  • Blocking a driver – blocking is considered where a driver makes more than one movements in defense of his position or any movement/s inside what is deemed to be a braking zone
  • Intentional wrecking after the race (not including yourself)
  • Any revenge wrecking or punting

Bans

  • Qualifying Ban - more than 4 points on your license
  • Race Ban - more than 7 points on your license
  • Season Ban - more than 10 points on your license

In-Game Penalties

  • 21x - Drive-Through
  • Every 9x thereafter - Drive-Through

Blue Flags

  • Blue flag means there is a faster car approaching and you are about to be lapped.
  • For all Sprint races (1 hour or less), you are required to move over safely within 4 corners to allow the faster car to pass.
  • For GT Endurance races (more than 1 hour) - Blue flags are regarded as information only, not as a mandatory move-over. However, the lapped driver should move over for lead lap cars as soon and as safely possible.
  • It is up to the faster car to pass safely.
  • Try to be as predictable as possible when being passed under blue flags
  • Avoid making unnecessary manoeuvres. Be predictable.
  • Flashing of head lights permitted no more than 3 times when approaching a car to let them know you are there (constant flashing is not allowed).
  • If you cause a collision under blue flags you will get an automatic SERIOUS OFFENCE against you. This goes for both drivers being passed and passing drivers. Be respectable to slower and faster drivers.

Meatball Flag

  • The Black Flag with a Red Dot (meatball flag) is displayed when you have been in a collision and due to severe damage, you must get your car to the pits for repairs within 3 laps or you will be disqualified by the game.
  • If you cause a collision while driving to the pits with the meatball flag displayed, you will get an automatic MAJOR OFFENCE against you. It is advisable to rather tow your car if it is undriveable.

Apron on oval tracks

APRON is the part of the track under the yellow/blue lines at speedways, like Daytona or Charlotte.

  • It is legal to race in the apron in the straightaways
  • It is legal to race in the apron in the so-called tri oval parts of the track (near the finish line of Daytona for example) It is illegal to overtake/race in any banked corner in the apron. You MUST enter and exit the apron in a safe way, without forcing anyone to move his line of racing to let you in.
  • If you collide with anyone when coming back from the apron it's your fault and will be treated as a bad rejoin.
  • These rules apply to oval racing and road racing that uses oval parts of tracks (like Daytona Road).

Retirement from the Race

We cannot stop drivers from leaving a race. "Rage quitting" is considered a major offence and could lead to a race ban. If you feel that you would prefer to retire from the race, we kindly request that you either tow or drive your car back to the pit safely and in the text chat post to all drivers: CAR XXX RETIRING FROM RACE. You are then free to leave
