MARL Code Of Conduct
Driver Etiquette:
- Bump drafting is expressly forbidden
- Intentionally turning the car around in front of you to move them out of the way is also expressly forbidden.
- MARL encourages door handle to door handle racing, however to achieve that, all drivers are required to give each other racing room at all times.
- Always check the track map prior to rejoining the circuit after an off. Reckless re-joins will not be tolerated.
- If you have an incident with the car in front that was due to driver error and leads you to gain a position, redress that position at the first available opportunity.
- Always check the track map and location of other cars prior to exiting pit lane during qualifying and the race.
- Diving bombing of any nature is forbidden
Qualifying:
- Drivers are encouraged to use the headlight flasher to warn slower cars. Also the mini map dots indicate light blue cars being on an out lap. Grey cars are on hot or timed laps....if you exceed track limits on a hot lap your dot will turn back to light blue letting others around you know.
Race Starts:
- Race starts for ACC will be via the in game procedure.
- Any start penalties applied via the software will be applied and must be adhered to
- 90% of all race incidents occur at turn 1 lap 1. All drivers need to be aware of that races are not won at turn 1 lap 1 only lost. Licking the stamp and sending at T1L1 it is forbidden as is diving bombing at any other stage of the race. Drivers that are found guilty of this offence will be penalised.
- Lap one will be reviewed in full after the race has completed.
Blue Flags, lapping and unlapping:
- Once you have been shown the Blue Flag DO NOT PANIC !!!! Stay on the racing line and at the next straight section of track lift off the throttle and let the faster car go AROUND you DO NOT move out of the way. This must be done prior to the next braking zone.
- Unlapping yourself - There will also come a time when you have been lapped and have the opportunity to un-lap yourself. This is another area of racing that also can be high risk and ruin races. If you are the lead lap there is no point battling with the car behind and if you are the lapped car there is no point in risking and accident and taking out the car in front. If faced with this situation as the car on the lead lap hold your line and let the lapped car go AROUND you on the next straight section of track as you would if you had been shown the blue flag. As the driver of the unlapping car do not place any pressure or battle the car in front. Wait for them to lift off on the straight and make your pass safely.
Crashing, spinning and rejoining:
- If you have gone off track you are to check the mini map to ensure there are no cars approaching and safely re-join the circuit staying off line until you have come back up to speed. If your car has suffered damage and is difficult to drive, safely make your way to the pits for repairs.
- If you have spun and are still on the track, firmly apply the brakes and do not move until you have checked the mini map and it is safe to do so. As above, if your car has suffered damage, stay off the racing line and make your way to the pits for repairs.
Protests:
- Races are not won at turn 1 on lap 1. They are only lost, so drivers are reminded to give each other room and not to dive bomb into Turn 1 Lap 1. In order to discourage that type of behaviour all lap 1 incidents are reviewed by the stewards with post race time penalties applied and demerit points handed to the offending driver.
- After the completion of Lap 1, incidents will only be reviewed if a driver submits footage of an incident to the Stewards Room for review. When submitting footage for review the stewards require more than just one camera angle. At a minimum the stewards require rear chase footage of all cars involved that shows the lead up to and including the incident. Cockpit view of each car is also of great assistance. The best way to get footage in ACC is to use the "Save Replay" function. Drivers are encouraged to ensure that they have a button mapped to this function on their game controller prior to race start
