MotorsportUK Esports – GT Challenge Event Terms and Conditions:
Definitions:
Driver(s): means the Driver(s) put forward by the Team to drive andcompete on their behalf in the Event.
Event: meansall three Rounds of the Championship as detailed in Clause 12.
Championship: means the 2023 Motorsport UK Esports – GT Challenge.
Motorsport UK: means Motorsport UK Association Limited (company number01344829) whose registered office address is 141 The Command Works SouthernAvenue, Bicester Heritage, Bicester, England, OX27 8FY.
Organisers: means Motorsport UK.
Stewards: means the judicial body at the Event responsible for ensuringthese Terms and Conditions and driving standards are adhered to during the Eventand to allocate penalties.
Team: means the sim racing team entered.
1. Introduction
1.1 The Event isorganised and owned by Motorsport UK (the ‘Organisers’).
1.2 The Organisershave the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
1.3 The Organisershave the right to cancel the Event at any time. Should the Organisers cancelthe Event a refund of the paid Motorsport UK esports membership shall not berefunded.
1.4 The Event isan esports Championship which will be organised through The SimGrid* website.
1.5 Clarification,interpretation and determination of any rules and these terms and conditionsshall be decided by the Organisers.
1.6 By entering aTeam and taking part in the Event you are agreeing to these Terms &Conditions.
1.7 Teams andDrivers are required to provide their own hardware and software equipment tocompete in the Event.
1.8 Team or Driverentries will be accepted at the sole discretion of the Organisers.
1.9 The quality ofthe internet connection being used by the Team and / or Driver to compete inthe Event is the sole responsibility of the Team and/or Driver. Should anyinternet connection issues result in an unnatural performance of the car theOrganiser will have the right to remove the Driver from the Event and record aDNF result.
1.10 All Teams and Drivers must adhereto the Motorsport UK Race with Respect code of conduct which can be found here. All Teams and Drivers must read this before entering the race. Breachof this code may lead to expulsion from the race.
2. Registration and Entry2.1 Teams are required to enter the Event and must have two Drivers perTeam.
2.2 Driversmust be over the age of 18 and it is the responsibility of the Team to ensure this.
2.3 Each Driverthat participates in the Event will be required to hold a paid Motorsport UKEsports membership (£24.99).
2.4 Anyentry that is incomplete or which contains offensive material or is otherwisespoiled shall be discarded and or rejected as not complying with these Termsand Conditions and shall be void.
2.5 Teamsare permitted to make changes to their entry any number of times prior to the DriverChanges Deadline.
2.6 The ‘DriverChanges Deadline’ is 12:00 BST on Friday 25th August, one weekbefore the start of the Event.
2.7 The carclasses are as follows:
· GT3 – Audi R8 LMS, BMW M4 GT3, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo,Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, Porsche 911 GT3 R (992)
· GT4 – Aston Martin VantageGT4, McLaren 570S GT4, Mercedes-AMG GT4, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR
3. EventDetails
3.1 TheEvent timetable is as follows:
• Practice - 18:00 BST
• Qualifying - 19:45 BST- (LoneQualifying, 2 Laps, 8 Minutes)
• Warmup - 19:55 BST
• Race – 20:00 – 22:00 BST
3.2 Thein-sim game time will vary from race to race and is outlined in the Championshipcalendar. The weather will be set to "Generate" and dynamic sky willbe enabled. All sessions after practice will have marbles set to 'Carry Over'.
3.3 TheEvent Rules are as follows:
· Rolling Start
· Single File, Maintain Restarts (after Safety Carperiod)
· Fast Repairs: 2
· Driver Fair Share rule enabled
· Minimum Licence: Class D 2.0
· Drive through Penalty given after 15x incidentpoints and then every 10x after that and DSQ at 35x
· Strict Qualifying in game scrutineering
4.Stewarding
4.1 TheEvent will be stewarded by iRacing's inbuilt automated stewarding system and theOrganisers will have a number of Stewards on hand to review incidentsthroughout each race.
4.2 To have an incident reviewed,protests must be submitted through the Google Form located here https://forms.gle/1NXdgTtNcRrSA12t7 and the Stewards will review it andconfirm the outcome in game and in the Discord server.
PLEASENOTE: Teams wills have a maximum of 2 protests availablethroughout each race.
4.3The Stewards and / or Motorsport UK will only consider penalising driving that hasresulted in a car being towed to the pits to be repaired ('Meatballed') ormultiple positions have been lost by deliberately crashing and / ordisrespectful driving.
5 Scoring
5.1 Winners will be chosen based on finishing position.
5.2 The amount of points allocated per class are outlined in Clause 11.
6. Liveries
6.1Each Team is allowed to use their own liveries for each race, this will be runthrough Trading Paints. Official Motorsport UK Esports logos must be added toeach car. Details for this are outlined in the Motorsport UK Discord and in 6.2below.
6.2Each Team must run the Motorsport UK Esports Logo as the sun strip on theircar. The logo is available to download from the ‘Useful Links’ channel in theDiscord server
6.3 All liveries usedmust adhere to the iRacing Paint Policy found here (policy updated08/12/21)
6.4Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom liverywill see the team banned from the race.
7. Prizes
7.1 The winning Team from BOTH classes shall win a one hour session foreach Driver in the Base Performance Simulator - Full Scale GT Simulator to takeplace at Base Performance Unit 1 Manor Park Warkworth Banbury Oxfordshire OX172AG. The winners shall choose a suitable date which shall be accepted subjectto availability. Further information is provided here.
7.2 The second place Team from BOTH classes shall win x4 British GTHospitality tickets to a round of their choice;
7.3 The third place Team from BOTH classes shall win x4British GT General Admission tickets to a round of their choices;
collectivelythe ‘Prizes’.
7.5 ThePrizes cannot be refunded or exchanged for any cash amount nor exchanged forany other goods or services nor can the Prizes be sold or transferred by thewinner to any other person.
7.6Delivery of the Prize will be effected in a manner at the Organisersdiscretion.
7.7 Thewinner agrees that the Organisers (or any third party nominated by theOrganisers) may in its sole discretion use the winner’s comments relating tothe Prize and their experience for future promotional, marketing and publicitypurposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid(including for the avoidance of doubt when responding to any third party).
8.Broadcasting
8.1 OnlyRound 3 of the Championship will be broadcast with commentary courtesy ofRaceSpot TV.
9. Conduct
9.1 Driversor Teams posting negative, disruptive and/or brand-damaging content on socialmedia about the following may result in the Team being disqualified from theEvent.
9.2 AllDrivers and Teams are expected to respect fellow Competitors, the Organisersand any others associated with the Event.
9.3 Discriminationof any kind; bullying; abusive / aggressive behaviour or inappropriate behaviourwill not be tolerated and will lead to penalties or disqualification from theEvent.
10.Interview Rules
10.1 Teamsmay be called to interview either pre-race, mid-race (when not driving) orpost-races.
10.2 Teamsmust provide at least one Team representative (Driver or manager) to interviewif an interview is requested by the Organisers or The SimGrid.
10.3 Anypre-race interviews will be arranged ahead of time with the Teams.
10.4 If Teamscannot provide a representative to participate in a mid-race interview whenrequested then this must be communicated to the Organisers.
10.5 All Teamsagree to provide at least one Driver per Team, who finish in positions 1-3 ofany race to participate in post-race interviews.
10.6 Teamsare reminded that all race interviews are broadcast live, and thus all; offensive/unsportsmanlikeand defamatory comments made during interviews are prohibited and may bepenalised.
10.7 Theabove conditions do not solely apply to the race but also apply to qualifying.
11. Data Protection
11.1 TheTeam and Driver confirms permission for the Organisers to request and use theirpersonal data as necessary for the limited purposes of the Championshipincluding the publication of their name and / or likeness where applicable.
11.2 Shouldthe entry include the submission of a third party’s personal data the entrantconfirms they have the permission of that third party to do so and that theseTerms and Conditions have been brought to that persons’ attention.
11.3 TheOrganisers may have to share the personal data of any winner and guest withthird parties for the purpose of issuing the Prizes.
