DELTA RACING LEAGUE - 2021 Season - GT3 Sprint European Series
The community:
We are a chill sim racing community that emphasizes discussion and friendly attitudes, a good place to race casually without feeling overwhelmed as beginners, veterans and admins all race and joke together.
We currently have a championship for Europe and one for North America, as well as some smaller community events from time to time.
Only members of the discord may join this championship, please read below and if you are interested in participating, you can join our discord here:

Don't hesitate to ask questions, we are sim racers just like you above all!
Disclaimer: Rules may change at any point to stay relevant to the league situation. We also try new things often that sometimes succeed, sometimes fail. This is also our first championship done using The Sim Grid, we are still getting used to it.
Championship format:
The GT3 Sprint European Series is an 8 rounds championship that races on Assetto Corsa Competizione every Saturday with qualifying starting at 18:00 UTC, drivers are using GT3 cars.
The Sim Grid default proggressive autofill points system is used:
Drivers will be split into two classes: PRO and AM, veteran drivers that usually finish towards the front will be invited to the PRO class to help with accuracy, others are invited to join the AM class unless they have a good amount of experience and skill. Promotion and Demotion will be used (at the moment, based on the admin's opinion until a better system is established) during the season to redirect drivers.
50 drivers are supported as this is the maximum limit of cars that may join a server on most tracks, 10 reserve spots are also available, the league evolves depending on the activity level, if the capacity is to be exceeded we may open another server to expand the championship as we have done in the past.
Qualifying starts at 18:00 UTC Time on Saturdays, the race immediately follows qualifying.
Race weekend format and rules:
There are two types of event: 80 Minutes Sprint and 2x 30 Minutes Reverse Grid.
You can see in the calendar what event type is used for each round, reverse grid events are less commonly used.
80 Minutes Sprint:
Weekend simulation:
- Friday: No Session
- Saturday: Free Practice 1; Free Practice 2; Qualifying
- Sunday: Race Session
Weather:
Dynamic Weather is used, the parameters used will stay the same for the entire race weekend, they will also be public (posted in #server-status).
Sessions rules:
Practice Sessions:
- Free Practice 1 is held all the time except during free practice 2, qualifying and the race as well as when the server is being restarted or is encountering a problem,
drivers are free to join the server anytime they wish and are guaranteed to encounter the same weather parameters as the ones used on race day. During a practice session,
drivers are free to use the in-game chat and are welcome to practice together.
- Free Practice 2 will be held just before the qualifying session and will last 60 minutes. To implement this, the server is restarted approximately an hour before qualifying.
Qualifying Session:
- The session is 15 Minutes long.
- Any driver not currently on a hotlap MUST stay out of the way of other drivers and not interfere.
- During the session, the in-game chat CANNOT be used, it is reserved for staff to communicate important messages.
Race Session:
- The session is 80 Minutes long.
- Drivers must respect the full formation lap procedure, penalties at race start will not be cleared.
- There is one mandatory pitstop, Refueling is required (1 liter minimum), tyre change is optional.
- Pitstops are allowed: car repairs, refueling, changing tyres and brakes are all allowed.
- During the session, the in-game chat CANNOT be used, it is reserved for staff to communicate important messages. However, drivers are authorized to use it once all drivers finished the race.
Reverse Grid:
Weekend Simulation, Weather, Practice sessions, Qualifying sessions work the same way as 80 Minutes Sprint.
Race Session:
- The session is 30 minutes long
- Drivers must respect the full formation lap procedure, penalties at race start will not be cleared.
- Pitstops are allowed: car repairs, refueling, changing tyres and brakes are all allowed.
- During the session, the in-game chat CANNOT be used, it is reserved for staff to communicate important messages. However, drivers are authorized to use it once all drivers finished the race.
How do Reverse Grid Races work ?
After Race 1 ends, the results will be used to determine the grid order of Race 2 by reversing the finishing order, so the last finisher will start on pole while Race 1 winner will start last.
Since the game lacks a proper reverse grid setting, it will need to be done by editing the entry list, this is quite quick to do but a break is needed in between the two races to prepare the grid, this break should last anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes (from the race 1 last finisher crossing the line to having the cars on the grid ready to race again).
Drivers need to follow these instructions:
- Drivers must wait until they lose connection (from the server being restarted) to leave the server!
- Admins will ping drivers on discord to inform them once the server has been restarted, drivers must rejoin the server as quick as they can (exit the server list and/or refresh it if you can't see the server).
- A short 5 minutes practice session will be on the server to allow everyone to connect in time, this is the right time to take a break, not before you have rejoined!
- Wait for the race session and remember to load your setup and change tyre pressures if needed.
Registration and attendance:
To register to the championship, drivers must meet the following requirements:
- Have the driver and EU roles on the league’s discord (you can apply to the driver role at any time, check #read-me)
- Read the present rules document and agree to it
Drivers should sign up to this championship if they reasonably assume that they can be present at the races more times than not. A very generous 5 sign outs are allowed for now, but is very likely to change if the league's activity grows again.
Drivers must sign out of races they wish to not participate to using the Sim Grid website!
About Reserve drivers: The first 50 drivers that sign up to the championship are considered "main" drivers, the rest of the drivers are considered "reserves".
If a driver agrees to these rules, The sign up link to Sim Grid is at #eu-series-sign-up , this channel cannot be seen if you don't have the driver role.
About liveries:
- Custom liveries made using the in-game editor are allowed as well as the stock liveries.
- Liveries made using third party tools are not allowed for stability and confort of play reasons.
- To get your custom liveries on the server, submit it to the channel #submit-liveries along with your driver name, car model and race number.
Racing etiquette, behavior, stewarding and reporting rules:
Basic racing rules:
The channel #rules in the league discord contains basic rules that must be respected
Stewarding and incident report:
- Live Stewarding is present but limited, therefore many events will be missed, however live steward are very much allowed to penalize drivers during a race if they deem it necessary.
- Post-Race stewarding is always available
- If you think an incident is worth being investigated, you must follow the procedure below:
How to report an incident for investigation post-race:
Driver have 48 hours after the end of the race to send a message to the discord bot ModMail#5460 like in this example:
=send 404728956202254346 <Your Message>
<Your Message> is to be replaced by your investigation request, for a request to be valid, it must include the following:
- The lap of the incident or if in a non race session, the approximate time of session
- The race number of the cars involved in the incident
- Any additional detail you think is worthy of the steward attention
This is the ONLY valid way to report an incident, complaining about an incident in chat or in the discord is unnecessary and will not be taken into account.
In the future, drivers may be able to report incidents using the Sim Grid website, for now the above procedure must be used.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask us on discord!
