Drivers are expected to join a team. For Season 16, there are two requirements for a team:
1. The driver count in a team must be 2, and there can only be one of each car within the team. One driver must run the ST Evo, and the other the Cup Car. 2. The combined driver ratings of the two drivers on a team must not exceed 175. For example, a team with a rating 100 driver and rating 70 driver is allowed, but a team with a rating 100 driver and rating 80 driver is not. Drivers without any rating data must first run on the Driver Rating server.
Teams are to be created on Simgrid, and must be selected during the registration process for the series.
All driver ratings are logged in this spreadsheet here.
Ratings are calculated as follows: the 5 fastest laps from a driver are averaged together. This average is then compared to the fastest average; a rating of 100 means that the fastest average has been matched (or beaten), while a rating of 0 means that the average falls at or outside of 107% of the fastest average. The laps are not taken from multiple sessions, and instead must all be set within the same session.
Drivers must set at least 5 valid laptimes within one session on the server. If 5 are not set within one session, then the results will be filtered out. Outlaps, inlaps and invalidated laps will not count towards the 5 required laps. Once 5 laps have been set, an admin will pull the results files for analysis and update the Driver Rating spreadsheet linked above.
Driver ratings will use a rolling average from the last 4 events the driver took part in – results from the Driver Rating server will always be included as well. Drivers may attempt to improve their times on the Driver Rating server at any time.
To receive a driver rating – A server will be hosted for all drivers with the following configuration:
Server name: cmsracing.com Driver Rating
server Password: cmsrocks
Session Length: 12 minutes
Conditions: Clear, 24/30C
Car Class: GT3, any make/model
