STEWARDING
This is a list of possible penalties that can be handed out to drivers in the case of an incident
- Time penalties, starting at 5 seconds and increasing depending on severity in increments of 5
- Penalty points, starting at 1 point and increasing depending on severity in increments of 1
- Qualifying Ban, these can be given out separately in the case of severe blocking of another driver during a qualifying session
- (Multiple) Race Ban, these can be given out separate in the case of causing severe collisions with (multiple) other cars
- Removal from full time seat
- Removal from the league as a whole
Some examples
- Driver 1 pushes Driver 2 off track while making an overtake, Driver 2 can keep going, Driver 1 receives a 5 second time penalty
- Driver 1 rear-ends Driver 2 going into a corner, Driver 2 gets spun around, Driver 1 receives 2 penalty points and a 10 second time penalty
- Driver 1 receives blue flags for Driver 2 coming up behind, and does not allow Driver 2 to overtake, Driver 1 receives 1 penalty point
Please note that these are examples, not rules. Penalties handed out can be more lenient or harsher depending on the severity of the incident. Incidents will in most cases be penalised harsher if they occur in the opening stages of the race.
Too many points?
To prevent drivers from racking up too many penalty points in one championship, we have the current rules in place:
- 6 Penalty points: The driver receives a Qualifying Ban, to be served in the next race they attend
- 9 penalty points: The driver receives a Race Ban, to be served at the next race in the championship
- 12 penalty points: The driver is at risk of being removed from their seat for the remainder of that championship
Reporting incidents
Drivers are encouraged to report any incident they see to ensure high driving standards in our leagues.
For ACC we use a tool that detects contacts between all cars in a session, but it is not always reliable.
So if there are any incidents you 100% want the stewarding team to have a look at, please still report it using the form in our discord in case it isn't picked up by the tool.
