The Sim Grid Sprint Cup returns for Season 3!
In Season 2 the Sprint Cup switched from solo driver to a two driver series. This allowed us to get even more of ACC's best drivers on the grid and get more of you racing. The format change was a great success and the racing was thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining and competitive.
There are no format changes for this third season (races are still 90 minutes long), however we have added in a sixth round and a fifth split!
Each of the five splits has availability for 35 cars. With each car featuring 2 drivers, this means that The Sim Grid Sprint Cup will have 350 drivers racing!
Places in all the splits have now been allocated following the qualifying process.
If you wish to register as a Reserve team, please select the Reserve class on the registration form.
After registering as a Reserve, please read the information in the Important Messages channel on Discord as well as the "Withdraw & Reserves" section below.
The qualification server will close at 22:00 CET on Monday 1st March.
Practice - 20:00 CEST
Drivers Briefing - 20:30 CEST
Qualifying - 20:40 CEST
Race - 21:00 CEST
The pit window will open with 50 minutes race time remaining. The pit window will close with 40 minutes race time remaining. Pit stops may be complete outside of the pit window, but these will not count as the 1 mandatory pit stop that each team must serve. Tyres must be changed during the pit window pit stop. The team will receive a penalty of 130 seconds if both drivers do not drive a stint.
All 5 splits of The Sim Grid Sprint Cup will have both Live Race stewarding and Post Race stewarding.
The series will use a success ballast BoP system. Teams that finish in the Top 15 of a race will receive ballast for the next round. The ballast a team has at a race is based solely on the previous result, the ballast does not accumulate.
Higher positions will result in more ballast but also more points. P1 will receive 35kg and 70pts whereas P15 will receive 10kg but only 20pts.
P16 will receive 15pts, decreasing by 1pt for every position until P30 who receives 1pt. P31-35 receive 0pts.

This is a driver swap series where each team is required to have 2 drivers. In the event that a teammate is unavailable for a race, there are 3 options available to the team:
If the third option is used, the driver will have to serve a 10s penalty in the pit stop as well.
The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this sprint series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game developers and their use can induce significant lag for the user.
Races in Split 1 will be live streamed on YouTube and custom liveries can be shared in a dedicated channel on discord for the stream broadcaster to run.
Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see that driver banned from the series.
To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries bring, we suggest that drivers run the livery but without the .png file. Do not run the liveries of other teams under any circumstances. The files are shared for use of the broadcaster only.
If a team is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Teams are permitted two withdrawals in this series. Missing a race without withdrawal will result in disqualification.
If a team has withdrawn from a race, but wish to attend the race after all, please contact a member of Event staff as the slot may have already been filled by a Reserve team.
If you are a reserve team, you can see if teams have withdrawn from a round on the same `Admin` tab on each round. If you see a team has withdrawn and you wish to take their place, please contact a member of Event staff.
Reserve teams are expected to be available at the event time on race day so they can race if other teams fail to turn up without reporting absence.
