If you’re convinced you’re driving the same lines as the pros and still not as fast, Delta 3.5 reveals exactly where time slips away.
OVERVIEW
SOP Motorsport is starting in 2023 as they did in 2022 and 2021, with a full replica of the British GT Championship. A championship that has become synonymous with SOP Motorsport over the years now and is back for a third time once again. This championship will feature the 6 rounds that make up the UK part of the calendar with the prestigious Spa Francorchamps to make up the 7 round championship to replicate the 2022 calendar. It will also only feature official manufacturers that competed in the 2022 British GT Championships for both GT3 & GT4. We will have a mixture of 90 minutes, 2-hour and 3-hour races to make up this driver swap series and we will have both a GT3 and GT4 championship combined for this multiclass series, so we can crown two champions and have two separate championship class battles.
REGISTRATION
The first 25 teams to register for GT3 will secure a slot in the GT3 class and the first 20 teams to register for GT4 will secure a slot in the GT4 class. This championship will be free to enter. We will allow 10 reserves for this championship (x5 per class) and so if registration is full, take one of the reserve spots and you will be moved into a permanent spot if a team withdraws.
EVENT TIMETABLE
Real time: Practice - 17:00 UTC (15 minutes - with 5 min driver briefing included), Qualifying - 17:15 UTC 30-minute split qualifying (15 minutes per class), Race - 17:45 UTC Various race lengths.
BOP
This championship will feature success time penalties exactly like the real British GT Championships that will have to be served in your pitstops, of course round 1 is equal for all teams, but after that it will come into effect at round 2 onwards for the top 3 in each class at each round.1st - 20s success penalty added, 2nd 15s success penalty added, 3rd 10s success penalty added for one pitstop only.
PIT STOPS AND STINTS
There will be one mandatory stop at every round, this is so your success penalties can be served. You will also have to perform at least one driver swap at every round, otherwise, your team will be DSQ from the race. There will be no mandatory requirements for fuel or tyres at any stop.
STEWARDING
This series will adopt both live and post-race stewarding. Stewarding is handled in the SOP Motorsport discord under the incident report channels, there will also be a live incident report room for each round.
CUSTOM LIVERIES
The use of custom liveries made outside of the game are permitted in this series. You can submit these liveries in the SOP Motorsport discord where a specific channel will be created for the championship.
WITHDRAW AND RESERVES
If a team is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many sign-outs are permitted. If a team has withdrawn from a race, but wishes to attend the race after all, please contact a member of staff as the slot may have already been filled by a reserve.
