Welcome to the DRL 4 Hours of Kyalami! Delta Racing League is a relaxed sim racing community that emphasizes discussion and friendly attitude, where beginners and veterans alike can race together, improve, banter, and - most importantly - have fun with a hobby we all share!
We will be doing a 4-Hour Multiclass race featuring GT3 and GT4 classes. We want this to be a true team-based Enduro, and as such, we will be requiring teams of two drivers. No more, no less.
You need to be verified on our Discord to be able to participate in this race, so please join the DRL Discord server and make sure you follow instructions in #readme-and-rules to get the correct role. This requires an SA of at least 50.
If the grid is full, we will remove unverified teams to make space for those on the waitlist who have been verified.
Server: [drlna] Delta Racing League | 4 Hours of Kyalami
Password: See Discord #kyalami-4hr for the server password on the day of the race.
The server will restart an hour before the Quali session. During the week leading up to the race, the server will be set up as a practice server, with settings comparable to those during the race. We expect a mix of EU and NA drivers; anyone is welcome to participate, but we do require your ping to be sufficiently good so as to not lead to dangerous lagging for other drivers.
1 hour Practice session, 30 minute Qualification session (15 min for GT3, then 15 min for GT4), 4-hour Race.
There will be 10 dry tire sets to be used across the race weekend - practice, qualification and the race - with a maximum stint time of 65 minutes.
Weather to be announced at a later date, closer to the event.
There will be live stewarding for this event. If you have been involved in an incident and want to report it to the stewards, fill out this form: https://forms.gle/BA6ckDeFZjWCUpUe9.
The standard DRL rules and standards apply. See the rulebook in #readme-and-rules in the DRL Discord for more detailed information.
As many of you are no-doubt aware, there are some peculiarities with Endurance Racing in ACC. In particular, it is vital that drivers join in the correct order according to the Entry List, with the first driver on the list for each team joining the server first. If you fail to do so, you break your entry in the server and you won't be able to participate in the race. If this is your first endurance race, please read up on instructions and you should be fine. Note, however, that we will not restart the server to reset your entry if you break it.
This endurance race will see both GT3 and GT4 sign-ups. Multiclass racing requires even more respect and attention than your usual single-class format. In particular, penalties for failures to respect cars in the other class will be more severe. It's up to the faster GT3 to make a safe overtake, and the GT4 does not have to yield the racing line under blue flags, though they obviously cannot defend. As always, our advice for the slower class is to allow for an overtake in the safest manner possible and that results in the least amount of time lost for both cars. Then, everyone will be happy. :)
If you are relatively new to ACC, league racing, or multiclass racing, we highly recommend signing up for the GT4 class; these cars are more forgiving and allow you to focus on the fundamentals of racing, and also produce some great battles out on the track.
As is now tradition, we will be running custom liveries in this race. A pack with all the liveries will be made before the race for your convenience. As a reminder, your submission must include all applicable "_0.dds" and "_1.dds" files in your Liveries folder in order to be accepted.
