The Velocity Racing League is built on the principles of competitive integrity, fair play, and respectful racing. All participants are expected to follow these rules to create an enjoyable and safe environment for everyone.
General Rules
- Respect and Sportsmanship
- Treat all competitors, stewards, and officials with respect. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including verbal abuse, intentional wrecking, or disruptive behavior, will not be tolerated.
- Registration
- Drivers must register for each championship event and meet all league entry requirements to participate.
- Attendance
- Drivers should aim to participate in all sessions (practice, qualifying, and race). Notify organizers if you cannot attend.
Session Rules
- Practice Session (10 Minutes)
- Begins at 9:00 PM EST. Drivers should use this time to familiarize themselves with the track, refine their setups, and prepare for qualifying.
- Qualifying Session (10 Minutes)
- All drivers will compete in an open-grid qualifying session to determine the race starting order.
- Drivers on a hot lap have priority. Overtaking during qualifying should be done with caution to avoid incidents.
- As participation increases, qualifying may be split into separate AM/Pro sessions based on performance rankings.
- Race Session (60 Minutes)
- The main race includes a mandatory pit stop. Failure to complete the pit stop will result in penalties.
- Drivers must plan pit strategies carefully to balance tire wear, fuel usage, and track position.
Racing Conduct
- Clean Racing
- Avoid intentional contact, reckless driving, or blocking. Drivers responsible for causing incidents must yield positions where possible.
- Track Limits
- Stay within track boundaries (typically marked by white lines). Repeated violations may result in warnings or penalties.
- Blue Flags
- Lapped drivers must yield to faster cars without obstructing their race.
- Mandatory Pit Stop
- Each driver must complete the mandatory pit stop as specified in the race format. Failure to comply will result in penalties.
Stewarding and Penalties
- Steward Reviews
- A team of stewards will review race incidents. Drivers can submit incident reports for review within a specified timeframe.
- Penalties
- Penalties for rule violations may include time penalties, position adjustments, point deductions, or disqualification, depending on the severity.
- Points System
- Points are awarded based on race results and adherence to league rules. Repeat offenders may face additional consequences, including suspension.
Equipment and Connectivity
- Equipment
- Drivers are responsible for ensuring their hardware (e.g., wheel, pedals, software) is functioning properly. Technical issues will not warrant session restarts.
- Connectivity
- Maintain a stable internet connection. Persistent connectivity problems may result in removal from the session.
Amendments and Updates
The Velocity Racing League reserves the right to amend these rules to improve the league and maintain fair competition. All drivers will be notified of any changes in advance.
