The Kodiak Racing League is committed to fostering competitive, fair, and safe racing. All participants are expected to adhere to the following rules and guidelines to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
General Rules
- Respectful Behavior
- Drivers must show respect to fellow competitors, officials, and stewards at all times. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including verbal abuse, intentional wrecking, or harassment, will not be tolerated.
- Registration
- All drivers must register for each championship event in advance. Ensure that you meet any league entry requirements before participating.
- Attendance
- Drivers are encouraged to attend all scheduled sessions (practice, qualifying, and race). If you cannot attend, notify the organizers ahead of time.
Session Rules
- Practice Session (30 Minutes)
- The practice session begins at 8:00 PM EST. Drivers should use this time to familiarize themselves with the track and finalize setups.
- Qualifying (10 Minutes)
- All cars will participate in an open-track qualifying session.
- Overtaking during qualifying should be done with care. Drivers on hot laps have priority.
- If the league grows, separate AM/Pro qualifying sessions may be implemented based on performance rankings.
- Race (45 Minutes)
- Race duration is 45 minutes, with rolling or standing starts as specified by the event.
- Drivers are required to respect track limits and avoid contact with other competitors.
Racing Conduct
- Clean Racing
- Avoid intentional contact or reckless driving.
- If contact occurs, it is the responsible driver’s obligation to mitigate the impact, including yielding positions if necessary.
- Track Limits
- Drivers must stay within the track boundaries (typically marked by white lines). Consistent violations may result in penalties.
- Blue Flags
- Lapped drivers must yield to faster cars. Do not obstruct leaders or interfere with their race.
Stewarding and Penalties
- Steward Review
- A team of stewards will review incidents post-race. Drivers may submit incident reports within the specified timeframe for review.
- Penalties
- Penalties may include time deductions, position adjustments, or disqualification based on the severity of the infraction.
- Points System
- Points will be allocated based on race results. Repeated infractions may result in point deductions or suspension from future events.
Additional Guidelines
- Equipment and Setup
- Drivers are responsible for ensuring their equipment (wheel, pedals, software) is functional. Technical failures will not warrant session restarts.
- Connection Stability
- Maintain a stable internet connection to avoid disruptions. Persistent connectivity issues may result in disqualification.
- Sportsmanship
- Celebrate the spirit of competition and accept race outcomes with grace. Constructive feedback is welcome but must be delivered respectfully.
