OVERVIEW
This season is being run in conjunction with NSE - The link to the NSE website can be found here. All drivers must join the Discord here.
If you are not a current or former UK university student, please sign up to the Wildcard Class.
RULES
Racers must abide by the BUSR Rulebook. Please familiarise yourself with them before racing. The Rulebook can be found here.
EVENT TIMETABLE
Practice: 17:30
Qualifying: 19:00
Race: 19:15
All times are local times to the UK.
The entry list will be configures in advance of the Practice Server - Signups will be closed in advance of a race server opening and will be reopened following the race.
FORMAT
We will be running two formats in this season:
Endurance Format - Quali: 15mins; Race: 75mins
Sprint Format - Quali: 15mins; Sprint Race: 20mins; Feature Race: 45mins
Both the Endurance race and feature race will have a mandatory pitstop with a mandatory tyre change
In the Sprint Format, the grid of the Feature Race will be set by taking the result of the qualifying session with all classified.
Due to SimGrid limitations, the points distribution for each race will be made available in the Discord server. There is 1 point available for the fastest valid lap in each race, as long as said driver finishes in the Top 15 in the respective classification.
Dynamic weather is enabled. There is 1 drop round per competitor.
balance of performance
This series will utilise Low Fuel Motorsport's Balance of Performance at all circuits for all cars that are covered by their system. A link to their BoP can be found here.
The Balance of Performance for each round will be announced when the Practice Server for each round goes live. After the Practice Server goes live, the Balance of Performance will not be changed.
Success penalties
This series will employ a success penalty system to condense the field and improve racing up and down the field. The system will work as follows:
After a round is completed, the top 3 drivers of each category will be given a time penalty based on where they finished in the round:
1st: 15 seconds
2nd: 10 seconds
1st: 5 seconds
These time penalties will be served in the next Feature or Endurance race that the driver participated. These penalties can also accumulate in over rounds up to a maximum of 45 seconds, and can be removed entirely if a driver finished a round below the top 3.
STEWARDING
This series will be live-stewarded, using ACC Race Control. Drivers will also be allowed to report incidents and appeal penalties as per the relevant forms distributed through the BUSR Discord server. Any incidents will be reviewed and punished as per the rulebook.
Prizing
There will be trophies planned to be give for the top 3 of the student category. These will be communicated with the top 3 winning drivers and be delivered by post (winners will be asked for a delivery address so that the trophy can be sent to them).
ELIGIBILITY
All members are eligible to compete in the GT3 class. Verified students signed up to NSE are required to sign up to the Student Class, and verified alumni signed up to NSE are required to sign up to the Alumni Class. The NSE link can be found here.
Members who are not verified on NSE are required to sign up to the Wildcard Class (you must also be over 18 to enter).
Please note that the maximum number of participants that are able to compete in each event is 50. In the event that more than 50 drivers sign up, preference will be given to the Students Class, followed by the Alumni Class, in the order that participants signed up to the series.
If you are unable to attend a certain event, we strongly encourage you to sign out of the specific event as this may allow your race spot to go to another driver.
CARS
All GT3 are eligible for this series. Competitors will only be permitted to change cars before their first competitive session of the season. Changing cars after competing in a competitive session is not permitted.
Car numbers are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The organisers will inform any teams with a duplicated car number to change their number in advance of the event. Competitors are not allowed to change their car number once it has been used in a competitive session. Please note that car number 1 is reserved for the previous season's Student Class champion.
LIVERIES
Custom liveries will be enabled for this event. A form will be made available in the Discord for uploading liveries. In-game created liveries should also be uploaded.
