SRC Introduces One Off Event #2 - Multiclass Racing
Event Overview:
Welcome to the SRC's First Multiclass One Off Event! This race promises high-speed action, strategy, and intense battles, providing a thrilling spectacle for participants and spectators alike, especially with the multiple class series to keep an eye on ;)
Weather
Weather will be announced within the discord on Tuesday 29th October. We will use AccuWeather to set the in game weather.
Race Night Schedule:
- Practice Session: 19:15 PM - 20:15 PM
- Qualifying Session: 20:15 PM - 20:35 PM
- Race: 20:40 PM - 21:45 PM
Qualifying Rules:
1. Session Duration: The qualifying session will last for 20 minutes.
2. Class Specific Timing:
Each class will have a dedicated 10-minute window within the 30-minute session to set their fastest laps.
- GT3 Class: 20:15 PM - 2025 PM
- GT4 Class: 20:25 PM - 20:35 PM
3. Track Limits: Exceeding track limits will result in lap invalidation. Ensure all four wheels remain within the track boundaries.
4. Track Etiquette: No overtaking through qualifying. Create a gap of around 4 or more seconds to the car ahead. If you have invalidated your lap or are on an outlap/inlap and a faster car is approaching allow them through and do not hinder them.
5. Pit Lane Etiquette: Observe pit lane speed limits and follow proper entry and exit protocols to avoid penalties.
Car Classes:
- GT3 Cars - BoP Applied
- Characteristics: High-performance, aerodynamically advanced, and equipped with powerful engines.
- Behavior on Circuit: GT3 cars are typically faster and more agile, making them capable of quicker lap times and more aggressive cornering. They have advanced braking systems and superior grip.
- Driver Expectations: GT3 drivers should be mindful of slower GT4's, especially during overtakes, and utilize their superior speed without endangering other drivers.
- GT4 Cars -
- Characteristics: Slightly less powerful than GT3, with less downforce and more emphasis on mechanical grip.
- Behavior on Circuit: GT4 cars are slower in terms of outright speed but provide close and competitive racing. They have less downforce, requiring more skill to manage through corners.
- Driver Expectations: GT4 drivers should maintain consistent lines and be aware of faster GT3 cars approaching, allowing safe overtakes.
Stewarding:
1. Incident Reporting: Drivers can report incidents by opening a ticket on the designated Discord channel.
2. Penalties: Stewards have the authority to impose penalties for infractions, which may include but are not limited to:
- Time penalties
- Disqualification for severe breaches of conduct
- Licence points
3. Appeals: Drivers have the right to appeal penalties. Appeals must be submitted within 24 hours of the incident outcome.
4. Post-Race Review: All significant incidents will be reviewed post-race to ensure fair and accurate results.
Key Points:
- Safety: Maintain respect for fellow drivers and ensure safety on track at all times.
- Fair Play: Aggressive driving, intentional blocking, and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
- Communication: Keep communication channels open for race updates, steward announcements, and driver briefings.
