OVERVIEW
Welcome to the SOP Motorsport Intercontinental GT Mini Enduro Championships! This series comes around for us as a way to offer an endurance championship for teams of 2, without the emphasis of spending 6/8/10 hours of your day at the wheel. An endurance championship where you can experience everything needed from such an event, but with each race only 3 hours long, it is more manageable logistically for teams. There will be only one split for this series with a 44 team maximum capacity so it is a first come first serve basis. Within your teams, you can have a 2 driver line up and you are able to change drivers in that team every round if you so wish to do. This means we will see 44 teams and at a minimum 88 drivers competing at every round to become the SOP Motorsport Intercontinental GT Mini Enduro champions.
PRIZES
For this championship, we will provide real motorsport trophies for the top 3 teams overall. The top 5 teams will also get the entry fee for this championship returned.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
This endurance championship has a $15usd team entry fee payable on entering. Running as a 2 driver team this works out at less than $2USD a driver per round. To register for this championship, click the "Register Team" button and select your team, the drivers of the car, car class and car. The $15usd team entry fee as mentioned before is to cover all the costs to run such a championship from trophies, administration, servers, broadcasting, commentary & stewarding. Teams can register 2 drivers per team upon initial entry but can change every driver at every round if you wish. The drivers must be selected 48 hours prior to each race. If any changes are made after that there will be a $5usd admin fee. If you wish to participate in this event you will need to join the SOP Motorsport discord to stay up to date and follow us as a host.
EVENT TIMETABLE
Each race - Sundays: Practice - 16:00 BST (20 mins), Drivers Briefing - 16:20 BST (5 mins), Qualifying - 16:20 BST (30 mins), Race - 16:50 BST (3 hours).
STEWARDING
The SOP Motorsport Intercontinental GT Mini Enduro Championships will have both Live Race stewarding and Post Race stewarding. During the race, you can contact stewards via the discord where we will have a dedicated incident channel and then this same channel can be used for anything post-race that still needs action taken on.
PIT STOPS AND STINTS
The series will not impose a 65 minutes driver stint limit. There will be no stint timer and no maximum driver time but each driver must drive at least one stint (of any length desired) during each race. Teams will receive a penalty of 130 seconds if a driver does not drive a stint. The pit stop rules will be completely free also, so no mandatory stops for tyres or fuel at any point in these 3 hours. Just the requirement of a driver change.
POINTS SYSTEM
Points will be awarded to the top 30 teams at each race. The points allocated for each position is 1st = 70 to 30th = 1 with 1 extra point up for grabs to the team who record the fastest lap. The championship will now feature a drop round system meaning only your best 4 rounds count towards overall position at end of championship.
ABSENT TEAMMATE
This is a driver swap series where each team is required to have a minimum of 2 drivers at a race. There are no exceptions to this rule. No team can do this event solo. You must ensure your two drivers selected are ready to go 48 hours before the event begins. However, if you forget to do this and enter the event without paying the admin fee of $5USD your team will receive a penalty due to not all drivers completing a stint or worse than that and not being able to compete in the round.
CUSTOM LIVERIES
Custom liveries made outside of the game are permitted in this series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game's developers. The Series will be live-streamed on Twitch and custom liveries can be shared with the stream broadcaster in a dedicated channel on the SOP Motorsport discord. Let us see who can be the most adventurous within the boundaries. Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see the team banned from the series. To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries cause, we suggest that teams run the livery but without the .png file. Do not run the liveries of other teams under any circumstances. The files are shared for use by the broadcaster only.
WITHDRAW AND RESERVES
If a team is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the "Races" tab, and then "Admin" on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Teams are permitted one withdrawal in this series. Missing a race without withdrawal will result in disqualification. If a team has withdrawn from a race but wishes to attend the race after all, please contact a member of the Event Admin team as the slot may have already been filled by a Reserve team. If you are a reserve team, you can see if teams have withdrawn from a round on the same "Admin" tab on each round. If you see a team has withdrawn and you wish to take their place, please contact a member of the Event Admin team.
