1. General Etiquette & Respect:
- Be Respectful: Treat all other drivers with respect on and off the track. Aggressive or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Voice/Chat: Use voice and text chat responsibly. Avoid excessive chatter during qualifying and racing laps, and keep it positive.
- Manage Your Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection to avoid causing lag for other drivers.
2. On-Track Conduct:
- Starts:
- Maintain formation and follow the pace car (if applicable) or the leader's pace until the green flag.
- Avoid jumping the start or accelerating excessively before the green flag.
- Hold your line on the run to Turn 1 and be predictable.
- Cornering:
- Giving Space: When racing side-by-side, leave at least a car's width to the edge of the track. The driver on the outside should be given space if they are alongside.
- Divebombs: Avoid overly optimistic lunges from a long way back that are likely to cause contact. Ensure you have a reasonable chance of making the corner without hitting the other car.
- Rejoining the Track: If you go off track, rejoin safely without impeding or colliding with ongoing traffic.
- Avoiding Incidents:
- Be Predictable: Drive consistently and avoid sudden, unpredictable movements.
- Lapped Traffic: If you are being lapped, be predictable in where you allow the faster car to pass. Holding your line is often the safest option unless a clear and safe opportunity to yield presents itself. Blue flags will be active as a guide, but it is the responsibility of both drivers to manage the situation safely.
- Causing Collisions: While accidents happen, repeatedly causing significant collisions due to reckless driving may result in further action.
- Pit Entry and Exit:
- Adhere to the pit lane speed limit.
- Enter and exit the pit lane safely, being aware of cars on the main track.
3. Mandatory Tire Stop:
- A mandatory tire stop is required during each race with the mandatory stop rule. You must change all four (4) tires on this stop to fulfill the requirement.
- Ensure you enter and exit the pits safely to perform your stop.
4. Penalties:
- iRacing's automated sporting code will be active and will issue penalties for infringements like corner cutting, avoidable contact, etc. Respect these penalties.
5. Protests:
- For incidents not covered or addressed by the automatic iRacing system that you believe were malicious or consistently reckless, a simple protest system may be in place. Details on how to protest (if applicable) will be provided separately. Remember this is a fun series, so protests should be reserved for clear and significant breaches of etiquette or dangerous driving.
