Get Ready for the FRL Festive Showdown!

The FRL season might have wrapped up, but 2024 isn’t done with door-to-door, high-octane racing yet! This festive season, FRL is back with a Monday Night Special—a 3-round championship that packs in all the adrenaline and action you’ve been craving, set on three of the most iconic circuits in the U.S.

We’re talking Laguna Seca, Indianapolis, and Watkins Glen—legendary tracks ready for FRL to attack! With a British GT-style format, each round delivers two, intense 40-minute races featuring a strict pit window for refueling. And here’s the twists: will you take on fresh tires for that pace advantage, or stick with your set to gain precious seconds? Your finishing position in Race 1 will determine your starting position for Race 2 with a twist. The top 10 will be reversed

So gear up, racers, and sign up now to close out 2024 in style. Let’s keep the engines roaring and the rubber burning right through the final lap of the year! Sim Racing at Its Very Best!

Schedule

  • Round 1: Monday 16th December - Laguna Seca
  • Round 2: Monday 23rd December - Indianapolis
  • Round 3: Monday 30th December - Watkins Glen

Race format 

  • Practice: 7:30pm ( 60’ )
  • Qualifying: 8:30pm ( 15’ )
  • Race 1: 8:45pm ( 40’ )
  • Race 2: 9:30pm ( 40’ )

Race specifics

  • Qualifying decides grid order for race 1
  • Race 1 finishing order decides grid for Race 2.
  • Top 10 in Race 1 will be reversed. 1st starts 10th, 2nd starts 9th etc.
  • 11th starts 11th.
  • 5-10 minute intermission between race 1 & 2 to allow server setup for Race 2.
PIT RULES FOR BOTH RACES
  • Mandatory Stop: x 1
  • Refuelling: Mandatory
  • Tyres: Optional
  • Fixed Refuelling: Yes (25 seconds)
  • Pit Window: 10 Minutes
  • Time Multiplier: x 3
  • Weather: Fixed (See SimGrid Events Page)
